Karlovic form continues with Los Cabos final win

Ivo Karlovic won his eighth ATP World Tour title, defeating Feliciano Lopez 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 in the Abierto Mexicano Los Cabos inal on Saturday.
It continues a sparkling run of form for the 37-year-old Croatian, who made the third final in his past four tournaments, after Dusan Lajovic's injury-enforced retirement yesterday.
After splitting those two finals, the world number 24 started well on serve, reeling off 13 aces.
The top-seeded Lopez was in similarly good serving touch initially, winning 91 per cent of points off his first serve, which was at 70 per cent in the first set.
Karlovic took control, with Lopez capitulating after losing the first set tie-break 7-5, securing the break at 3-2 in the second set.
Lopez offered little resistance following the break, and summed up his second set with a double fault on match-point.
"It’s unbelievable. Really nice to win in my first year here [in Los Cabos]. I’m definitely going to have a beer or two, and then go to Cincinnati," an elated Karlovic said.
